Grants and Financial Support
A limited number of participation grants will be available to support attendance at HWO2026.
The aim of these grants is to facilitate the participation of early-career researchers (students and postdoctoral fellows) and of participants from less developed countries, for whom travel and accommodation costs may represent a significant barrier.
Grant Coverage
Grants will be provided in the form of:

- A registration fee waiver
and/or
-
- Free hotel accommodation for the duration of the symposium (30 November – 4 December 2026)
Please note that these grants do not cover travel expenses and diners. (Registration fees include lunches.)
Eligibility
Applicants must:
-
- Be registered participants of HWO2026
- Be
- an early-career researcher (student, postdoctoral researcher or junior engineer)
and/or
- based in a less developed country
Priority will be given to applicants who actively contribute to the scientific program (oral or poster presentation).
Application Procedure
Participants wishing to apply for a grant must submit an application, as a single pdf file, including the following 2 documents:

- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Motivation letter (maximum one page) explaining:

- the applicant’s scientific background
- their interest in HWO2026
- why financial support is needed

Applications will be submitted electronically via the registration form on this conference website.
Selection Process
Grant applications will be evaluated by the Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC) based on:

- scientific merit
- relevance of the contribution to the conference
- applicant’s career stage
- financial need
Applicants will be notified of the outcome by email.
